Breast Cancer Haven in Hereford has received a significant grant from The Freemasons’ Grand Charity of £15,000.
The Grand Charity is an ardent supporter of the charity, having donated £250,000 in 2008 to fund the development of a new Haven in Leeds – thus establishing with Hereford, the only Havens outside London.
The most recent grant is helping to fund the post of Clinical Nurse Specialist at the Haven in Hereford. Janice Dell has been in this role since 2007, having previously been Breast Care Nurse at Hereford Charles Renton Oncology Unit.
Speaking at the presentation, Rodney Smallwood, Provincial Grand Master for Herefordshire Freemasons said “We recognise the importance of Breast Cancer Havens in the community and are delighted to be able to provide our support within Hereford”.
The donation to Hereford Haven is just one of the initiatives supported by The Freemasons’ Grand Charity which donates over £3 million to national charities every year.
